photo's of the white crowned sparrow now on my blog, there fairly rubbish, but it was the best i could do. i didnt post the snow goose as it was just a white dot :-O

Hi all, been a while since anyone's posted on this.

Steve and I have come up with an idea for a young birders bird race sometime in the next few months. We would select a day, or a weekend if people cannot do Sundays/Saturdays. We would each select one of our own sites of preference and go on our own, come back and compare totals for the day here and crown a winner.
Sound like a good idea?
I was thinking late April time so we could get some migrants on the day/weekend.

Some proposed weekends (Because some of us cannot do Sundays/Saturdays and to please all we would have to make it a weekend).

Weekend April 12th and 13th
Weekend April 19th and 20th
Weekend April 26th and 27th


Any would be fine for me, please tell me which weekend would be best for you.

Yes. May. April (especially mid/early) is too early to get any decent numbers of migrants. And we'd be allowed to visit whichever sites we wanted right? Not just one? Just one site would be unfair whichever way, as habitat etc is obviously going to vary. What about the weekend 3rd/4th May?
