Hey guys,

Up to 113 with a trip to Forfar Loch yesterday where Bean Goose, Scaup, Kingfisher, a flock of 30 winter Siskin and the first Goldcrest of the year were seen. The Bean Goose was only my second ever so it was a top quality bird to see.

Alex, best of luck with visiting Scone Palace!

no I didn't, nor the Black-throated Diver. Strange that the BTD wasn't there cos that was the bird I most expected to see. The White-fronted Goose wasn't amongst any Greylags and no sign of any Pinkfeets on the Loch. The odd flock flew over. Bean Goose was lovely though. Congratulations on a great day Alex. ;)

Competition, Jonny, competition. Its fine to be competitive, don't worry. I have it on you by 1 species, but I'm sure you'll go ahead cos I probably won't be birding for a couple of weeks now unless something interesting turns up. Well done on the American Wigeon, that's a fantastic bird! ;)

That's strange Alex, and a pity your Dad couldn't confirm it for you. I wonder where it was yesterday cos my Dad and I checked thoroughly for it. Maybe it was the weather. You never can tell with birds can you...

To answer your question none of my friends fom school are interested in birding at all. I have some friends however who I have met through birding.

Hi no-one at school or any of my friends are birders themselves. A couple of friends take very minor interest but more on the biological and taxonomical side of things rather than birding itself. I don't think there's any other people like me of my age in the city of Aberdeen, except Calvin of course, although he's a year younger. ;)
