That's a excellent record.Malta is doing well for birds and rarities this spring. Are there more birdwatchers looking for birds this spring.I expect if more birders went to Malta alot more rarities would get found.

this was found thanks to the birdlife spring watch but weren`t sure about it, so local birders confirmed it :t: hope for more in future :D and that i will see this warbler tomorrow!

I WAS going to go up to Strathbeg this weekend to see a Great White Egret there (and possibly a Snow Goose if it is with the Pinkfoot flock) at Strathbeg, but cos my mum and my sister have managed to get a flight from where they've been stranded in southern Africa due to the volcanic ash, my Dad and I will have to head down to Edinburgh to pick them up. Then got a mate coming round on Sunday so I won't be getting to Strathbeg then. If the Egret decided to stay around during the school week I could go after school but that would be risky, and besides I have seen 2 before so its not a huge deal. On the bright side it looks like I'm doing a Speyside trip next week, where I will be going for the same targets as Andrew did. Then a couple of weeks after that I'll be spending a few days birding in Norfolk, so a good few weeks to come. :king:

Some nice birds there Alex, well done. And Jonny, what a day and what a bird indeed! Very well done and some nice photos! ;)

By the way, I've written the first part of my account of the Portland trip. This post describes my trip to Chew Valley Lake, where I saw some nice birds and got my holiday off to a good start. As usual, comments are much appreciated if you wish to read it. ;)

Cheers,

Joseph

a fantastic seawatch this morning brought me Common, Arctic, Little and Black Terns, Great and Arctic Skuas, Bar-tailed Godwit and Avocet. 148 species now, and I believe I have briefly stolen 8th place!
