+1 for me please: LONG EARED OWL
One of these stunning birds was seen today at RSPB Saltholme. No trip to Rainton sadly, as we didn't get to saltholme until late. Depending on ringing tomorrow, I maybe be able to fit in a trip tomorrow. Theres now a ppossibility of reaching a higher total, with the two Redpoll sp, and then the Green Winged Teal in Scotland, which there is some plans to see.

+1 to me - found myself a nice flock of Waxwings

Also I should actualy be at 145 now (including the waxwings) as somehow my list here had become detatched from the actual list which I emailed to you, though not sure where the difference was... Thanks!

+1 for me please
Saw the flock of Mealy Redpolls at Rainton today. Beautiful birds, in a mixed flock with Siskin, Goldfinch and Lesser Redpolls. We saw an EXTREMELY pale individual with little streaking, but I didn't want to claim it as anything but a mealy, as I was unsure of the ID features.

Jonny I stopped adding to my list in summer so you can remove me from the list if u want, I'm keeping the birds I've seen stored in my memory so I dont know the exact number. Sry.

I hope so:t:

I hope so too :t:. But if I was to do a list just for Scotland rather than the whole of the UK, that would mean I am not allowed/shouldn't participate? Any thoughts on this are welcome.

If I can get away next to Somerset next week, I'm hoping to pick up a couple of year ticks to push me up to 240. I really want to reach a whole number - it just seems more fulfilling! Seeing one of the two Green-winged Teals in the Lothian area is a target if I can get away, + any year ticks in Somerset - year ticks around in the area in the last couple of weeks have included Black-necked Grebe, Cattle Egret and Ferruginous Duck, but being able to see any of these is going to be a big if! I won't be available to add them to the year list on here, so Jonny will kindly add any updates if I do happen to get any year ticks.

Merry Christmas and good birding to you all!

Joseph

I think you should be able to participate, and tbh I don't think you would be at much as a disadvantage.
