Was memorable not least for the comedy in getting to the bird. Spotted it miles away on the opposite side of a large lake in Uganda. There seemed no way to get there, other than boat. Found a small village a couple of kilometres on and finally arranged to rent a small dugout ...which promptly began to sink before we got to the bird. Bailing out, paddling forward, finallly got to this bird of almost mythical status - 4th January, the year could not get any better</p></blockquote><p></p>
