My latest Lifer was a Western Violet-backed Sunbirds in the Bakoutuku aea of Gambia on 20/02/2012.

However this was one of 133 Lifers seen in Gambia & Senegal which included such goodies as Northern Carmine Bee-eater, Martial Eagle, Greater Painted Snipe, Egyptian Plover and many many more.

Greater Painted Snipe! I'd be happy with a Painted Snipe. Truth--I'd be happy with any Snipe.;) Sounds like a great adventure.

Two Lifers to add.

Last week I had the Paddyfield Warbler at Pagham and this week I bit the bullet and went after the Northern Waterthrush, a bird I have ignored for six months on the Scilly Isles.
