Zeiss Terra ED Pocket 8x25 Binoculars -dimensions folded- (1 Viewer)

Hello,

This is going to be my first post after a year reading the forum.

Could someone tell me the total dimensions of the Zeiss Terra ED Pocket 8x25 Binoculars, but folded, and with the eye pieces completely extended?
I can only find their total dimensions unfolded, and probably with the eye pieces down.

They came with a nice hard case that fit them unfolded, but I would like to find a pouch to carry them folded, occupying less space when needed, but ready to use just unfolding them, with the eye pieces already extended to see without glasses.

Apart from the few seconds saved extending the eye pieces, I always have kept my binoculars in their pouches with their eyepieces extended. I do not feel confortable unscrewing -or pulling- them every time if it can be avoided. Also, with this model that, inexplicably, comes without a rain guard, the ocular lenses are more protected with their eye pieces extended.
I do not use objective covers, but I like to use ocular rain guards when available.

I obviously do not have them here now to check the measurements by myself, but I need to find a pouch in the meantime.

Thanks.

Welcome to Birdforum!

12cm x 7.5cm x 5cm

That's fully folded with eyecups fully extended.

Hope that helps and good luck with your search for a pouch.

In case someone can be interested, with the measurements provided I already have found a pouch that fits what I was looking for.
Until I can get my binoculars back I will not be able to check them properly, but with the bag already on my hand, they should fit completely extended, ready to use and with the strap attached.

The model is a Lowepro Terraclime 30. I found it really cheap, not my favourite colour, but not bad. My only complain is the weird buckle, but one can´t have everything perfect.
I like that it´s not bulky, but it´s not padded. If you are looking for more protection, then this is not for you.

I love mine. I originally bought a pair over a year ago but returned them because I had another pair with similar specs and decided that I couldn't justify the cost. But a year later I was still thinking about how amazing they looked and scoured the classifieds in hope of finding a lightly used pair. I was successful and have had them in my possession now for over a month. Every time I look through them I'm pleasantly surprised at just how good they are. Delightful binoculars.

I like mine, too, and agree that they are very good for the price. Because of that I wanted this pouch, to carry them with my other things, just in case I need them, without having to be too worried and less careful than when I take some of the other ones, a bit better but several times more expensive models.
I hope that the young lady that borrowed my binoculars return them without any damage...

Hi

A quick question. Did the Terras fit in the Lowe Alpine case?

Cheers

Hi,

I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but as I already have the Lowepro case, I have been measuring it and I think that they are not going to fit, just for a few millimetres, with the eyecups completely extended as I wanted.
On the other hand, as the bag closes folded, when opened unfolded, I reckon that the binos can fit in vertical position with the hinges opened, ready to use. But that way the bag can be closed with the buckle.
