I have searched for a cutaway diagram but can't find one for any of the three brands that make/made this type of bin. The mechanics remain a mystery :) If the narrow fov keeps the weight down then I am happy. 715g is about as high as I want to go weightwise unless the bins aren't going to be carried far. Usually I wear them around my neck for hours at a time though. I've never tried the Ultimas but I like the view and wide fov of the similar Bushnell Legend 8x42 porros but they are so heavy. I am picking the HRWPs from the delivery depot today. I'll let you know what I think. I am still concerned that the slow focus may be a deal breaker. But then again my SRGA 8x32s focus is so quick (half a turn) that the HRWPs may be the ideal match for them. One is waterproof the other isn't. One is 32mm the other 42mm. One is wide field the other is narrow. One is very light the other is medium. I shall begin to find out later today. Best wishes Martin
