Hi Laura! Please note that this forum is dedicated to wild birds. Caged / Domesticated birds are of no interest for us and any publications wlll be delieted.
You're right about the resemblance between tits and chickadees. They're trans-Atlantic "cousins" :)
I would like to delete one of the Streak-crowned Antvireo, which loaded twice. Hope this is OK with you.
The two are almost identical, but one is more in focus than the other. Delete _A0A6505 (less focus).
OK. I have not noticed that they were different photos :) Thanks.
a brave little male rose-breasted grosbeak has been coming to my feeder... brave because i was about 6 feet away from it. i'd only seen a grosbeak one other time and it was 8 years ago, so i'm pretty happy!
woke up this morning to the sound of rain, and lightning... and then i noticed a bird call! it was too overpowered by the thunder and rain and it made me worried a little, but i found no injured birds this morning. i hope he comes back so i can learn what he was.
just now a pileated woodpecker finally returned to my yard. she was flying around the trees at the side of my property. i saw her face towards the tree that gives me the best view for a photo. my neighbor started up his lawn mower. it flew away. all i want is a good picture of this woodpecker.
