Distribution
Found in large parts of South America.
Taxonomy
Two subspecies accepted:
- C. a. andrei in central and northern Venezuela
- C. a. meridionalis from Colombia to the Guianas, Brazil, northern Paraguay and northwest Argentina
Meridionalis is now sometimes split as Sick's Swift, Chaetura meridionalis.
Habitat
Forested lowland rivers.
