Identification

Blue-grey head, upperparts and throat, rufous underparts, grey legs and feet, dark eye, short dark bill.

Distribution

Montane rocky areas of south-western Madagascar (Isalo Massif)

Taxonomy

Monotypic[1]

Sometimes treated as subspecies of Forest Rock Thrush[2] and placed in the genus Pseudocossyphus.

Habitat

Dry forests and dry shrubland.
