Identification

Male

  • Black top of head (extends below eye)
  • Black upperparts and tail
  • Silvery-white underparts

Distribution

South-east Asia: endemic to the Philippines.

There are 3 subspecies[1]:

  • Southern Philippines (Bohol, Leyte, Dinagat, Mindanao and Samar)

Habitat

Uncommon in forest canopy below 1000 m.

Behaviour

Diet

There is not a lot of information, but they are most likely to eat fruit, pollen and mistletoe nectar.
