Identification

Brown back, chestnut wings and long tail, black banding on belly, brown head with white speckles, brown eye, long down curved brown bill, brown legs and feet.

Distribution

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

There are 10 subspecies.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and montanes.

Behaviour

It follows army-ants, to eat the insects they disturb.
