Identification

24 cm (9½ in); small bill
Male

  • bluish-grey crown and upperparts
  • Black forehead
  • Black underparts
  • Grey uppper wing coverts
  • Black greater coverts

Distribution

Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in the genus Coracina.

Subspecies

Habitat

Moist lowland forests, forest edges, clearings and gardens. Occurs at heights around 750–2800 m,

Diet

Their diet consists of fruit such as figs and insect, including caterpillars.
