- Rufous chestnut head and throat
- Black crest
- Yellow at the base of the flight feathers (visible at rest)
Male has a broad band of black across the chest
Distribution
South America: found in Venezuela, Guyanas, Suriname, Brazil
Taxonomy

- T. a. klagesi:
- Eastern Amazonian Brazil (along Rio Tapajós and Rio Xingú)
Habitat
Moist lowland forests; dense, viny understorey of humid forest particularly near rivers or, near the coast, in mangroves.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects.
