Alternative name: Buru Oriole

Identification

23–32 cm (9-12½ in)

Similar Species

Virtually identical to Buru Friarbird.

Distribution

South-east Asia: found on Buru Islands, Indonesia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly considered conspecific with Tanimbar Oriole.

Habitat

Deciduous monsoon and mangrove forests. Lowland and montane forests, also secondary woodland.

Behaviour

Diet

They forage alone, in pairs and often mixing with Buru Friarbirds. There is little other information available.
