Identification
Distribution
Northern New Guinea but not in the Vogelkop peninsula.
Taxonomy
Blue-fronted Fig Parrot, Dusky-cheeked Fig Parrot, and Black-fronted Fig Parrot were formerly considered a single species, the Orange-breasted Fig Parrot.
Subspecies
Clements recognizes these subspecies[1]:
- C. n. nigrifrons: Northern New Guinea
- C. n. ramuensis: Northeast New Guinea (Ramu River district)
- C. n. amabilis: Northeast New Guinea (Huon Peninsula to Milne Bay)
Some authorities include ramuensis in amabilis.
