Turdoides reinwardtii

Identification

Dark grey-brown upperparts., brown-black head, white throat, white eye ring, white underparts, mottled on breast, buff flanks.

Distribution

West Africa.

Taxonomy

There are 2 subspecies:

  • T r reinwardtii
  • T r stictilaema

Habitat

Forest and thick scrub.

Behaviour

It builds a cup shaped nest in dense foliage and 2-3 eggs are laid.

The diet includes insects and fruit.
