Australasia: Island of New Guinea (endemic), Papua New Guinea

Taxonomy

Subspecies^[1]

There are 2 subspecies:

• G. r. ruficollis :

• Western New Guinea (Arfak Mountains)

• G. r. insperata:

• New Guinea (Central Highlands to Owen Stanley Mountains and Huon Peninsula)

Habitat

Highland forests; observed at 1700m above sea level
