Identification
Length 28cm.
Brown above, rufous below, darkest on belly, flanks and undertail coverts barred blackish-brown. Bill black, legs olive.
Distribution
Eastern Colombia and Venezuela south to Southern Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina.

Habitat
Atlantic forest and dense scrub on mountain ridges at 1,200-2,200m.

Voice: A dull whistle.
