Identification

Male

  • Black
  • White-streaked upperparts
  • Black-streaked white underparts and belly

Female

  • Buff-streaked upperparts
  • Buff underparts finely streaked black

Distribtution

South America: found in south-eastern Colombia, south-western Venezuela, north-eastern Peru and north-western Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Scrubby forest on white sand soil and in thickets along gallery forest in savannah areas.

Diet

The diet includes insects.
