Identification

Distribution

Endemic to Corsica and Sardinia.

Locally abundant.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.

It is often considered conspecific with Citril Finch. This view is supported by a recent genetic study (Förschler et al. 2009).

Habitat

Wetlands near montane lakes. Observed between 1400-1800 m.

Behaviour

Fairly tame and curious birds.
