Aethopyga duyvenbodei



Forehead and crown black, tipped metalic emerald green. Nape and sides of neck maroon, mantle dark olive green. Rump buttercup yellow, uppertail coverts rich blue. Lores black, earcoverts maroon., thin, but noticable broken yellow eye ring. Chin to undertail coverts buttercup yellow. Wing coverts and tertials black with broad rich blue margins. Remiges and rectrices black, tail with white tip. Bare parts black.

Crown and ear coverts to uppertail coverts yellowish olive. Lores pale yellowish olive. Underparts bright yellow. Wings black with broad yellowish olive fringes. Tail black. Bare parts black.


Indonesia. Endemic to Sangihe Island and, possibly Siau Island, north of Sulawesi.


This is a monotypic species[1].


Forest, low scrub and plantations.
