Identification

13–14 cm

Distribution

South America: found from extreme eastern Colombia to south-western Venezuela and extreme north-western Brazil

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Myrmeciza by Gill and Donsker.

Habitat

Humid forest often on white sand basis

Behaviour

Often walks on forest floor or just above on moss-covered branches.

Diet

There is little published, but they are known to eat a variety of insects, grasshoppers and spiders.
