Identification
Around 16 cm, a species with long tail and short bill
Male
- Glossy-black upperside
- White patches at wings (greater coverts and scapulars)
- White rump with orange to orange-red patch
- Black tail with white edges
- Black stripe through eye
- White supercilium meets above the bill
- Sides of head, chin and upper throat white
- Orange to orange-red breast patch
- White underside
Female
- Similar to male except that black ares mostly are dark brownish-grey and orange is grey.

In addition to other species of Minivets, it is worth considering Stonechats
Distribution
Plains of central Myanmar
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Jerdon's Minivet was recently split from White-bellied Minivet
Habitat
Found below 1000 m asl. Inhabits semi-desert, dry farming areas, thorn-scrub and other areas with scattered trees and bushes.
Behaviour
No details available but probably similar to White-bellied Minivet except in voice.
