Drymodes superciliaris

Identification

Rufous-brown above and paler below, with a distinct dark vertical stripe from above the eye to the side of the throat. Black wings with broad white tips forming a prominent double wingbar.

Distribution

Northern Queensland (rainforests of coastal Cape York Peninsula), Australia

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with Papuan Scrub Robin.

Habitat

Dense vegetation, typically including rainforest.

Behaviour

Diet includes invertebrates, collected by actively digging in dense leaf litter. It moves mostly by hopping.
