Identification

9cm. Long, slightly decurved black bill with flesh-coloured (occasionally orange) base to the lower mandible. Coppery-green tail with a dark subterminal band. Coppery-green upperparts and flanks, white central underparts and crissum. Most races have green, turquoise blue or azure blue face-sides and crown.

Distribution

Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
