Identification

- Narrow white coronal stripe
- Olive upperparts
- Darker olive-grey wings
- Yellow eye-ring
- Two yellowish to wing bars which are strongly diminished in worn plumage
- Edges of flight feathers yellowish, edges of tertials white.
- Pale grey throat
- Yellowish-olive underparts
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia.
Taxonomy
Tepui Elaenia has been split from Sierran Elaenia
Subspecies
Three subspecies recognized[1]:
- Sierran Elaenia - Elaenia pallatangae:
Habitat
Montane forest edges; clearings with shrubs, brush pastures. Observed at heights around 2,092 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of insects and fruit, particularly mistletoe.
