Accipiter luteoschistaceus

Alternative name: Grey Sparrowhawk; Slaty-backed Sparrowhawk; Slaty-mantled Sparrowhawk

Identification

30-38 cm. Adults slaty-grey above and off-white below, orange bare parts. Juveniles have dusky crowns and are heavily barred black on tawny upperparts and white underparts.

Distribution

Papua New Guinea.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Moist lowland forest, open forest and cocoa plantations.

Behaviour

Its diet includes small lizards.
