Identification

15 cm

  • Plumbeous upperparts
  • Black lores
  • Paler grey underparts
  • Whitish belly
  • Long tail
  • Bright yellow bill and legs

Immature

  • Olivaceous-brown upperparts
  • Yellowish-buff underparts, streaked brown
  • Two indistinct, buffy wing-bars
  • Brownish bill

Distribution

South America: found from coastal western Peru (Lima) to Andes of northern Chile.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Low forests, riverine vegetation and olive groves.
