Peru, Bolivia, s Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, n Argentina.

Taxonomy

The Sibley-Monroe treats this as a split species from Masked Yellowthroat (Geothlypis aequinoctialis). Both the current Clement's and the Howard & Moore have not recognized this treatment as a split and continue to consider this as a race of G. aequinoctialis.
