Identification

21 cms. Grey head, black bill, yellow olive throat, grey legs, olive green back, brown eyes.

Distribution

Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe.

Taxonomy

The subspecies olivaceiceps is sometimes split as Olive-headed Greenbul, Andropadus olivaceiceps, striifacies as Stripe-faced Greenbul.
This species was formerly placed in the genus Andropadus.

Habitat

Boreal and moist montane forests.

Behaviour

The diet includes butterflies, bees, wasps, locusts and ants hawked aerially, killed and then eaten; seeds are also eaten.

The nest is built high up in the tree canopy and 2 white eggs are laid.
