Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.

Taxonomy

Subspecies^[1]

• A. f. fumigata:

• Central and Western Andes of Colombia

• A. f. fuliginosa:

• Andes of eastern Colombia, extreme western Venezuela and northern Ecuador

• A. f. peruviana:

• Andes of northern Peru (Amazonas and San Martín)

• A. f. plengei:

• Andes of Peru (Cordillera Carpish in Huánuco)

Moved to genus Asthenes by Clements (2010)^[1] and IOC (2010)^[1].

Habitat

Cloud forest, observed at heights of 3000 m.
