Hi all
I'm thinking of taking a trip to Thetford Forest this weekend and would really
appreciate any info on where to head for and what could be seen.
Thanks.
Barry

Go to Lyndford Arboretum, should find those Hawfinches in the paddock, marsh tit in the woods. There is a great grey shrike at Grimes graves and woodlark there as well.

Hope that helps

Mark

Hi Mark
We had a great day.
Started off at Mayday (Brambling, Siskin, Redpoll ) then onto Grimes Graves where we had great views of the G,G, Shrike (well pleased with that one) and Bullfinch then onto Lyndford Arboretum no Hawfinch but it was getting on a bit and very windy.
Then finished off at Lackford Lakes (just before it closed).
We spent some time looking for a pull in by some water tanks/troughs at Sandton Downham where we were told Crossbills come to drink but did'nt find it.
It's the first time I have been to the area but certainly not the last, already planning another trip.
Thanks for the info.
Barry
