What to wear under a fleece? (1 Viewer)

I recently bought one of Paramo's Taiga fleece jackets and as it's getting "slightly" warmer I'd like something other than the usual shirt/jumper under the fleece.

It's still a bit to cold for just a T shirt, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations?

Merino wool works well I find. Long sleeve /zip neck version.
You might also consider a Norwegian army shirt, similar configuration
but different material.

Base Layers - long sleeve top and long johns. Merino Wool is the best and the most expensive. I did notice when i was in Millets yesterday that they had Peter Storm Base Layers at half price about £9 each. I use peter storm for walking and they are very good in the cold weather.
