Katami 6x32 gone? (1 Viewer)

It looks like all of the old Leupolds are history. Their best ones were very good, heavy duty binoculars that cost more than people wanted to pay.

The ones they sell now are less expensive but in my experience still very good. Their new Hawthorne brand has a 7 x 42. It might be, at $350.00, the only decent and economically priced 7 x 42 in the world right now. It's Japanese made I believe. It replaced the BX-2 Cascade which was Japanese made and which I own and that one is an excellent binocular, especially at that price. The Hawthorne has the same specs. They look like they are built in the same factory that makes the Swift 8.5 x 44 model 828.

The Hawthornes are FMC. The BX-2 Cascade was MC. That seems to be the only difference.

Wow that is too bad, the 6's were neat and provided a nice view. Pretty handy as well.

I could do without all the leafs and impressions the latter models are coming out with...

I have a 10x42 GR HD and a JUST ARRIVED Katmai 6x32, bought primarily for the wife.

Both SOLID binocs.
