Song/calls for China trip (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
A friend and i are going on an unescorted trip to China shortly.I've been advised to learn a few song /calls of a few tricky/skulking species.Are there any recordings available.

Chris, It depends on where you are going and what you are looking for. Birds of Tropical Asia 3 might be of help to you. For a specific species you may have to contact the Macaulay Library at Cornell or another such institute. You could also try get in touch with BF member hunson at Chengdu Bird Watching Society. He might be able to help you. If you are looking for species that are also found on Taiwan, I might be able to give you some help with calls but remember "regional dialect" may be a factor.

Thanks for the info,i shall be taking your advice.In the mean time the calls i have been recommended to aquire are as follows :
White bellied Redstart
Spotted Bush Warbler
Manchurian Bush warbler
Japanese Bush Warbler
Chinese Bush warbler
Tickels Bush warbler
Yellow Streaked Warbler
Chinese Leaf Warbler
Plain
Laughing Thrush
Reed Parrotbill
Meadow Bunting
White browed Chinese warbler/Chinese Hill Warbler

Any opinions on the above would be more than welcome

Sorry, I can't help you with any of these. Birds of Tropical Asia 3 has
White-bellied Redstart, Tickels Leaf Warbler, Yellow Streaked Warbler, Chinese Leaf Warbler, and Spotted Bush Warbler on it. The others may be quite difficult to find.
