Swans in Madrid. An unsuccessfull accidental re-introduction. (1 Viewer)

July 3rd I was going by train across Monte de El Pardo. It is and ancient hunting state of the King in Madrid. When I was crossing River Manzanares I saw the unmistakable figure of a swan. A week later I was walking to the place to see if I could see it again, what happened and allow me to present these photos. I left the car in the parking of the recreational area and I headed upriver, 50 meters after passing under the railway bridge this male swan was on the river..

I had never seen a feral or wild swan in Madrid. During the week before the trip I did a little research on the internet.

The first reference is the association ANAPRI on January 7, 2013 reporting that Alfredo Ortega Morejon saw six swans in Pedrezuela reservoir in Guadalix de la Sierra. His origin is a park in Tres Cantos town. Some of them survive wild two years later.
