African Openbill Stork (Anastomus lamelligerus)

Not the bonniest of birds.

With a beak like a Swiss army knife it can open up a bivalve or winkle a water snail from its shell in a few seconds.

This is one of a number of images taken on the dreaded family summer beach holiday .......man what a beach!!!!
