Black-headed Gulls

Black-headed Gulls (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)

It's about four years since I posted a shot of this species. I don't see many BHGs here - Herring Gulls are the main gull species these days - so it was pleasing to see this quartet last Friday.

They were a long way off though - my new laser rangefinder confirms the distance as 106 yards. (I do like clever tech kit, but have no desire for a smartphone! My 9.99 Nokia, bought in 2006, still works fine).

A beautiful photo of these four gulls, John, with excellent lighting. Lovely how the flying gull casts its shadow on the gull on the right, excellent action shot, many tfs!!!
