Snipe Hunting (with a camera!) (Gallinago gallinago)

I was very luck to come across this little guy. He didn't stay around town very long and was very cooperative! It's either Wilson's or Common, depending on which Sibley book you look in!

You have been the luckiest guy in town. It's a great shot, Jon.
I have wanted this bird for years now.
One day I was at Mountsberg. Two of them landed right in front of us and stayed there for the whole time. I had no camera with me on that day. I kept going back every day after that for a while but no show.

Yep thats birding for ya, sometimes the most surprising birds present themselves up wonderfully close, you just never know what is going to show. This is a wonderful closeup, very well done.

Nice shot! I saw a bunch a few weeks back but they wouldn't cooperate for my binoculars let alone a camera.

Yes, It sure is a nice photo, Jon.....some Good Luck and your skills combined for a winner!!!

Thanks, guys.

Hey, Chuck: Long time no talk. Do me a favour, will you? I lost my HD a few months ago and your email address went with it. Send me one...?
