On Snow Covered Tree Stump. (Strix varia)

I photographed this bird in February. It took me a whole day, but I managed to take a few good pictures of this guy.
I can hardly wait to see them again.
Habitat
Lakeside forest
Location
Whitby, Ont. Canada
Date taken
2005-02
Scientific name
Strix varia
Equipment used
Canon 10D 300/4.0 L IS 1.4 TC
What a shot! Great background and lighting.

It's strange to think of Whitby as a hotspot for owls, I've been there many times but never for photography. I intend to visit this winter. Maybe you can fill me in on the prime spots?

Thanks digishooter. One of my favorite Owl shots. In fact it is on my wall, custom framed.
