Marsh Harrier (male)
Just one picture today but I'll try to post another in a couple of days. My ambition is to post fewer pictures more often, ideally 1 a day.
We had a great time in the south of Sweden. We experienced sun, rain, wind and snow but there was more good weather than bad.
Skanör, which was our favourite place on our last trip 2 years ago, didn't live up to expectations this time but other places exceeded them.
We stopped off overnight on the way south and stayed near Lake Tåkern. I hoped for Bearded Reedlings but, for the first time ever, saw none at all. It was a very hard winter for them apparently. On the other hand I got fairly close to the Marsh Harriers

Brilliant close-up aerial of this beautiful raptor with excellent eye contact. Fabulous stop-action, focus, dof, lighting, colors, feather detail, and blue sky. I am glad you had a great trip. That is what I love about trips, I always know some things won't pan out but there are always a pleasant unexpected surprise. TFS Graham. I look forward to seeing your posts more frequently!
