Common Moorhen

Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus)

I managed just three field outings last year (am intent on more this year). One was to the Country Park. Moorhens are abundant enough in such habitat, but this one still made a nice change from the "garden birds" I can photograph at home (though the Ring Ouzel in October, highlight of the year and indeed decade, did amazingly turn up in the garden. With birds, you never know...).

Thank you for your kind comments on my pictures, and good birding!

John
