Common Wood Pigeon (juvenile) (Columba palumbus)

This young bird, still wary of predators, was keeping out of strong direct sunlight as much as it could. It found a small patch of shade on top of a van below overhanging tree foliage.

wonderful portrait of this handsome youngster, John, with amazing details and lovely, soft, colours!! Don't happen to see that many of these immatures. top marks, many tfs!!!!

Wonderful capture of this youngster. Sounds as if it going to make it to adult hood being cautious that way. Excellent work John! TFS!
