Crowded Beach (Aptenodytes patagonicus)

Some of you will have seen the landscape of the sunrise over Gold Harbour that I posted yesterday. This shot shows what the beach looks like when you get onto it. There are supposedly 25,000 breeding pairs of King Penguins on the beach, and I can well believe it. If only we could add the smell and sound onto BF!
Habitat
Beach
Location
Gold Harbour, South Georgia
Date taken
12 Mar 09
Scientific name
Aptenodytes patagonicus
Equipment used
Pentax K200D with 55-300mm lens, 1/45 @ F16, ISO 200, 170mm
Wow Richard, how wonderful is this image!!! Fantastic and yes, sound and smell would make it more perfect o:)o:):t:

Wow Richard, what a sight, tremdous but no sound today I've got a headache:'D:'D
Super shot:t:eek::)

Super shot Sluggy, I wouldn't want to do any sunbathing on that beach mate, a bit too overcrowded for me.

Not getting away from the madding crowd there I guess ;) And amidst such a crowd every parent will know their own chicks voice amazing isnt it ! Well done Richard :clap: :D :clap:

I'm not sure what brings up more jealousy, the superb shot, or the fact that you were on South Georgia! Spectacular! Outstanding! :clap:
