Grey-winged Robin-chat -for the database

Grey-winged Robin-chat -for the database (Cossypha polioptera)

A shy bird which sticks to deep cover in undergrowth and thickets on the forest floor -usually along forest streams. It is a difficult bird to see and even harder to photograph.

This bird lived under a park bench (I kid you not!). At the Rondo Retreat (an absolutely fabulous place to stay) there is a track leading down from the gardens into the forest where a small stream flows between small pools (where an African Pygmy Kingfisher lives) and by the small pool there is an old bench..........

Ya know, new birds for Opus are becoming harder and harder to come by but you sure have given us a few treats this last week Steve. A beautiful capture.

Well I thought you was going to tell us "and on that bench, theres an old tramp who sleeps there". Lovely story, and two super shots of two difficult birds to see, probably because its dark, good work Steve.

Fantastic Steve, what a gorgeous bird and a brilliant pose you caught it in. Outstanding soft lighting with great saturated colors, feather detail, and eye contact. Brilliant Steve!!!

It really is a very beautiful bird Steve, super shot. Love the angle too.
