His Majesty!
These large and powerful vultures dominate at a carcase and have bills strong enough to open up the toughest of hides.
Sadly African vultures are in trouble with some dramatic falls in population over large parts of their range.

Okay, this wins the most "a face only a mother could love" over my Turkey Vultures ;)

What a beautiful closeup this is Steve. Gotta go check the scientific name cause it's not showing under Opus with the one you have.

His majesty indeed! What a dignified, regal face expressing all of Nature's wisdom! Plus, amazing photo quality in every respect! A tremendous subject and work!

Scientific name appears to be correct so I have raised the question in Opus about a page for this magnificent bird. Sit tight ;)

Excellent work here Steve...I sure hope the poulation recovers...I think other species depend on these?

Regal bearing for sure. Magnificent bird Steve. Thanks for posting, delight to see. Stupendous photograph and caption.

A stunning close-up capture, Steve! You've really done this magnificent bird justice.
