Pink Profusion!

Pink Profusion! (Phoenicopterus minor)

The Wildebeest migration is touted as one of the greatest natural wonders of the World, and so it is, but this has to be the most impressive sight I have ever seen!
Lonely Lake Bogoria is a modest beauty that few tourists visit. For a time we had this incredible vista to ourselves (and the attending Fish Eagles). Further along the lake are volcanic geysers and fumaroles which belch sulphurous effluent into the air giving a vision of hell on Earth, yet only a short distance away life dares to flourish in a massive pink exuberance!

If at all possible you should visit this place but make sure you take someone with you otherwise you may have to view this amazing spectacle all by yourself -and no one will believe you!

This image was taken by my wife Marian, I was still picking up my dropped jaw!

Well done Marian. What ever comment I make would be understated for the reality of seeing such a magnificent sight. A treasure we should never allow to let go.

OMG! I cannot image what it must have been like to see this in person. What a massive amount of Flamingos. A wonderful capture Steve.
