Red-necked Grebe (Podiceps grisegena)

Hi folks,
Back from nice visit with my son and his family in St. Louis. Actually ben back for a couple of weeks but haven't had a chance to get to posting.
Been testing out this new equipment. Have been working with micro 4/3 for a while now for landscape work but there wasn't a good tele lens available. Just got the new Panasonic (Leica) 100-400 lens and so far I am very happy with it. Not going to get rid of my Nikon equipment but this setup is nice and light for travel (lens only about 2.1 lbs and camera small. The lens is only a 6.3 stop out at 400 but with the smaller sensor it has a crop factor of 2 giving it a 35mm equivalent of 200-800. So far I am very pleased with the results I have been getting.
This Red-necked Grebe has been hanging about on a small local pond in the Albany, NY area.
We don't see these here on a regular basis but every year about this time we get a few passing thru.

A super picture of one of the most beautiful of grebes - many thanks for sharing it with us.
